Treadmills with advanced features are expected to be offered at a higher price range. But the Sportstech F10 Treadmill seems to have changed the game as not only is it affordable it is also compatible with a smartphone app. However, for an entry-level fitness machine, you should know that it’s not as powerful as the more expensive ones so it, therefore, might not be suitable for intense training. Let’s take a closer look at this treadmill to see if it has more to offer than just smartphone compatibility.

Sportstech is a German brand that manufactures different fitness equipment, and most people know that Germans are famous for creating luxury cars and durable household appliances. With a maximum user weight of 120 kg, the Sportstech F10 Treadmill is a pretty durable entry-level treadmill. It has a hard-wearing frame construction that’s made of high-quality material. Along with the frame comes an LCD display with blue backlight where you can keep track of your time, distance, speed, calories, and pulse rate – pulse belt included. There are 12 training programmes available for you to start with and one user-based programme, once you get to know your desired pace. Aside from this, the console is also smartphone app compatible, but I’ll be talking more about that in depth in the latter part of the review.
A powerful motor is one of the most important things to consider when it comes to buying treadmills. This Sportstech F10 is integrated with a quiet 1HP DC motor, which is good enough for an entry-level treadmill. It has a top speed of 10 km/h which is excellent for walking, jogging and light running. Just like other low-priced treadmills, this model can’t be utilised for intense running as it cannot support fast-paced training. But because it operates with minimal sound, you can exercise anytime you want without disturbing your neighbours or anyone inside the house for that matter.
Most entry-level treadmills don’t offer a comfortable running deck, but the Sportstech F10 is integrated with a 5-layered specially developed High-Tech running surface. The five layers are comprised of the tread, supporting layer, shock-absorbing layer, noise-damping layer and a bearing surface. All of these combined will help lessen the impact on your joints whilst quietly walking or jogging. It also has treads on the side to prevent you from accidentally falling off the machine.
With the iFitShow app, you can monitor your fitness data even when you’re not using the machine. You can save your data on your smartphone or tablet and plan your next session. In this way, you will get more optimised results, and you can achieve your goal faster. Aside from this, you can also play music through the app, or you can watch movies to keep yourself entertained while exercising. The Sportstech F10 treadmill has a built-in tablet holder so you can freely move even while looking at the smartphone app.
Storing this treadmill won’t be stressful because it has a fast folding mechanism which includes a hydraulic system, so you don’t have to manoeuvre the machine by yourself. It has a space saving design so you can keep it out of sight when it’s not in use. Plus, it has built-in transport wheels that let you easily slide it to the designated storage area.
Since it’s an entry-level treadmill, the Sportstech F10 has a narrow running surface that measures 34.5 cm across and 101 cm long. This makes it more geared towards running and light jogging, especially for tall people with long strides. It also has no incline so you won’t be able to add any intensity to your workout in case you desire to. But still, a lot of customers say that they were pleased with the product and that it performs well.
